Wednesday, May 18

10:30 – 11:30 a.m.,Ready to Read Storytime at West Fargo Public Library
Pre-K kids are invited to Ready to Read Storytime on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Ready to Read Storytimes at the West Fargo Public Library are open, interactive storytime sessions that get children practicing early literacy skills through reading, writing, songs, play, and art activities before they head to Kindergarten. Ready to Read Storytime is intended for children ages 3 - 5, but kids of other ages will not be turned away. Each storytime is a little different, but attendees always read, play and create together! Each week will have new themes, new stories, new activities and new fun!

1 – 2 p.m., Novel Afternoons Book Club at West Fargo Public Library
The Novel Afternoons Book Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. at the West Fargo Library. May’s book selection is “Flat Broke with Two Goats” by Jennifer McGaha. For more information about book clubs at the library visit https://bit.ly/WFPLBookClubs.

Thursday, May 19
6 – 8 p.m., Little Red Reading Bus at Meadowlark Park Open House (8880 Lost River Road, Horace)
The Little Red Reading Bus will be present at the grand opening event for the new Meadowlark Park in Horace. The Horace Park District will have activities, games, treats and more fun for all ages. Stop by the bus to learn more about the Little Red Reading Bus route for summer 2022 and the West Fargo Library’s Summer Boost reading program for all ages.

6 – 8 p.m., Technology Tutors Available at West Fargo Library
Helpful and knowledgeable volunteers are standing by to help with technology questions. Sign up for free one-on-one technology coaching by appointment at westfargolibrary.org. Appointment slots are 30-minutes and are available Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteer technology tutors are available to assist with topics like: basic computer, tablet, eReader or smartphone skills; basic internet and browser skills; setting up email or social media accounts; learning how to use apps and websites; and streaming and downloading digital media.

10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Baby Boost Storytime at West Fargo Public Library
Baby Boost Storytime provides a safe and encouraging space for children ages 2 and under and their caregivers to interact and grow language and social skills through introduction to books, rhymes, signs, and play. Activities from this storytime also help foster an emotional connection between the child and their caregiver, which helps to create a positive association with learning and reading.

Saturday, May 21

The Little Red Reading Bus invites you to join the fun at the Red River Spring Market on Saturday, May 21. Explore dozens of great vendors, eat great food and participate in activities for all ages during this all-day event. The Little Red Reading Bus will have books, activities, games and more for visitors. Chat with a librarian to learn more about the Summer 2022 Little Red Reading Bus route and the library’s Summer Boost reading program, which starts the first week in June.

1:30 – 2:30 p.m., Intro to Ancestry Library Edition at the West Fargo Library
Learn the basics of Ancestry Library Edition like different types of searches, saving records of family members and exploring the many facets of the database during this one-hour session led by West Fargo Library staff genealogist Jackie Marler. No registration required.

Sunday, May 22
Last open Sunday for the Summer
The West Fargo Public Library is closed Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Sunday, May 22 is the Sunday the library will be open until Sunday, September 11. Monday through Saturday hours will remain the same through the summer months.
Monday – Thursday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

6:30 – 7:30 p.m. | May “Let’s Talk About Gardening” Meetup
Join fellow gardening enthusiasts for a fun, casual monthly meetup. Each month they will discuss a new topic, enjoy refreshments and have plenty of time for gardeners of all experience levels to chat, share knowledge and get to know each other. May’s topic is “summer planning and spring cleanup.”
