Integrating Digital Health & Care 2022 | UKAuthority

Delivering integrated care across 'place'

Place-based integrated care systems (ICS) are set to bring together NHS, local authority and third sector bodies to work and deliver as one. Taking on responsibility for the resources and health of an area or 'system', the aim is to deliver better, more integrated care for patients.

Learnings from the pandemic around virtual wards and consultations, real-time data, integrating and automating systems to deliver rapid response to need has laid the foundation for a new approach to innovation.

From providing better care at home and preventing avoidable hospital admissions to moving people from hospital to home – or care – as soon as they are medically fit whilst providing the information all medics and carers need, the new focus provides an opportunity for digital, data and technology to shine.
