Interior introduction

McLaren 720S coupe comes with electrically adjustable comfort seats with memory function where carbon fibre fixed back manually sliding seats can be configured as optional extras. Each comes with carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive suspension, a carbon-fiber monocoque, and features like Variable Drift Control, McLaren Brake Steer, auto-levelling LED headlights, and soft-close doors.

Interiors are beautifully wrapped in leather upholstery with carbon black textile has been used for the headliner. Instead, this is really just a trim level, with numerous carbon-fiber accents on the exterior and some additional carbon fiber on the interior too.

As standard, the 720S comes with black Alcantara and a little leather and aluminum scattered about, but a Black and Scoria Grey color scheme is available too. Seatbelts can be had in your choice of Carbon Black, McLaren Orange, Yellow, or Red.

The Performance version of the 720S isn’t any quicker than the other models, nor does it produce more power or add additional tech. The Luxury trim features heated seats and ambient lighting as standard, while the Performance version gets a racier interior and numerous carbon-fiber accents inside and out. For the 2019 model year, the 720S Track Pack becomes available as an option, pushing the total price of the 720S in Performance specification up to $332,770.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be optioned at an additional cost where GPS Satellite Navigation System comes standard. There are also various exterior carbon fiber packages that replace various accents with carbon pieces. Changes include super-lightweight 10-spoke forged alloy wheels, an MSO gloss finish visual carbon fiber active rear spoiler, and a sports exhaust.

The lighter and more sportier alcantara interiors can be equipped as a part of optional extras. The interior of the 2021 McLaren 720S comes with a seating capacity of 2 occupants. Although it doesn't have the heated seats and additional Nappa leather of the Luxury model, it does feature ambient lighting and a much more aggressive level of carbon fiber on the exterior and interior.

Engine Type

Steering column mounted pair of paddle shifters lets the driver take manual control over the 7-Speed Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission. All come with a seven-speed dual-clutch Seamless Shift Gearbox that sends power exclusively to the rear wheels.

You also get adaptive dampers, a digital and revolving driver info display, a drift function, variable drive modes, and launch control. Fortunately, everything else is ergonomic, with all controls in easy reach.

This has to be equipped together with the four front and four rear parking sensors and rear camera, however, so expect your total bill to increase significantly. A 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine sits behind the driver and passenger, producing 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque, all of which is sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to the rear wheels.
